Jesus has honored with the authority and dignity of His Priesthood.
Intercede for their every need; sustain them in their fatigues and labors;
console them in their pains; fortify them in their combats; and keep them holy.
Obtain for them the humility of
the zeal and charity of
and recollection of which you, dear Saint, are the model.
So, having been faithful priests on earth, they may receive in Heaven
the just rewards promised to priests according to the Heart of God.

Lord Jesus, hear our prayer for the spiritual renewal of Priests.
We praise You for giving their ministry to the Church.
In these days, renew them with the gifts of Your Spirit.
You once opened the Scriptures to the disciples on the road to Emmaus.
Now renew Your ordained ministers with the truth and power of Your Word.
In Eucharist You gave the Emmaus disciples renewed life and hope.
Nourish priests with Your own Body and Blood.
Help them to imitat e in their lives the death and resurrection they celebrate at Your altar.
Give priests enthusiasm for the Gospel, zeal for the salvation of humankind,
courage in leadership, humility in service, fraternity with one another and
with all their brothers and sisters in You.
For you love them, Lord Jesus, and we love and pray for them in Your name.

called to minister as priests in your Church.
Fill them with your love and goodness, bless them and make them holy,
give them all the help and strength they need to do your work on earth.
Give them a generous apostolic heart full of love for you
and enable them to lead into true holiness all those entrusted to their care.
Keep them from all harm and help them to remain faithful to their ministry.
Inspire more young men to dedicate their lives in service to you.
Sanctify those preparing for your service
and to the souls of departed priests grant eternal rest.

please give us Priests who, like You, love souls, the poor and the Cross.
Give us Priests who, like You, do good wherever
they go and sow the seeds of peace among men and forgiveness for sins.
So that all those You wish to choose
for this awesome honor may give
a generous and joyous response to Your call.

Mary, Mother of Jesus, throw your mantle of purity over our priests.
Protect them, guide them and keep them in your heart.
Be a Mother to them especially in times of discouragement and loneliness.
Love them and keep them belonging completely to Jesus.

O Jesus, eternal Priest,
keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them.
Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body.

Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood.
Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion.

O Jesus, I pray for Your faithful and fervent Priests;
for Your unfaithful and tepid Priests;
for Your Priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields.
for Your tempted Prie sts;
for Your lonely and desolate Priests;
for Your young Priests;
for Your dying Priests;
for the souls of Your Priests in Purgatory.
But above all, I recommend to You the Priests dearest to me:
the Priest who baptized me;
the Priests who absolved me from my sins;
the Priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion;
the Priests who taught and instructed me;
all the Priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially …).
O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart,

My dear Jesus, by Thy most loving Heart,
I implore Thee to inflame with zeal for Thy love and glory all the Priests of the world,
all Missionaries, and those whose office it is to preach Thy Word.

O Jesus our great High Priest,
hear our humble prayers on behalf of Your Priests.
Give them a deep faith, a bright and firm hope and a burning love,
which will ever increase in the course of their priestly life.
In their loneliness, comfort them.
In their sorrows, strengthen them.
In their frustrations, point out to them that it is through suffering that the soul is purified,
and show them that they are needed in the Church;
that they are needed by souls;
